Kim was released from the hospital on June 3rd. The hospital arranged transportation for her to get home because, at that point, she still couldn't walk much and was in pain. I also asked the hospital about having a bedside commode and wheelchair and they said they would take care of it.

On her discharge papers, it listed a company who would be taking care of those items, however by the day after her release, they still hadn't delivered them, so I called the company. Apparently they "don't do those kinds of orders" whatever that means, but the lady I spoke with said that she would talk to the manager and get it sorted out. So that was taken care of, but I still mentioned it to Kim's primary doctor's nurse and he said he would contact the company, as well the home health company as they said they'd put in a request for the items as well (but it had been weeks and Kim still didn't have them). The nurse said if it comes down to it, they have vendors they work with and he would see about putting in an order. If I didn't hear from anyone by Monday, to call him back.

The home health came on Saturday to do another eval before the nurse and PT could come back. You better believe I told her as well about the problem.

The reason I'm telling so many people is that while all of this was going on, I found out that today would have been the post-op follow-up for Kim with her surgeon and that just wasn't going to happen without a wheelchair. The appointment was changed to Friday, but I have an appt that day (it's a hair appt, but I'd already rescheduled it twice! I wasn't going to do it a 3rd time!) and we were still without a wheelchair!

Then Tuesday rolled around and the nurse from the home health company came...and you bet your ass I told him about it! And what do you know...not 2 hours after his visit, I got a call from another medical supply vendor and they're going to deliver the bedside commode and wheelchair!

Today those items came! But not after I had to call the company to find out when the delivery was going to happen. The lady said that he was 15 mins away, and I said okay. To myself, I said I'd give him 30 minutes, simply because I know how traffic is around where I live...and good luck trying to find parking. BUT WHAT DO YOU KNOW! HE WAS KNOCKING ON THE DOOR IN 15 MINUTES!

So, now Kim has a wheelchair and bedside commode. I don't have to deal with shitty pull-ups and we can both go out and get fresh air!

In another entry, I'll talk about school ending, how shitty my family really is, and my long-awaited surgery!
