I was feeling pretty frazzled last night (just ask [livejournal.com profile] huntress69) and ended up asking my dad to look over my [livejournal.com profile] casestory BB because it was down to the wire and I couldn't think of anyone online who could beta my 16,000 word fic.

while he did that, I worked on some graphics. Got 1.5 done.

I'm going to be working on this the rest of the day - going over the corrections my dad made and making graphics.

I'll probably end up positing it like 10pm or 11pm

All parts of Restaurant at the End of Piikoi Street are now with my beta and I'm waiting to hear back from her.

the final pre-beta word count is ~15,616 words!

15616 / 10000 (156.16%)

also have graphics being made for this as well.

I'm excited to see what the final produce of everything is going to look like!
simplyn2deep: (Default)
doing a cursory glance at the chapter before sending it to beta.

pre-beta word count is ~14,687!

I'm note sure if case driven fic is my strong suit.

But I tried it, and completed it.

Now I have about 13 days to work on my [livejournal.com profile] serialkillerbb. While I have the outline for it, I haven't started to write anything for it. I think this might be another BB that I have to drop out of. but I'm keeping the idea for another BB.

You guys! I’m…umm…confused.

I’m trying to wrap up this [livejournal.com profile] casestory fic, but it just won’t end.

It’s already to 14,096 words and I haven’t even caught the bad guys! I've identified them, the good guys know about them, but I don’t know HOW to get the police to the point of catching the bad guys!

And I really need to get this ending to my beta ASAP.

I'm 95% done with my [livejournal.com profile] casestory fic and I think by the time it's complete, it'll be +/- 13,500! yay!

I'm so ready for this to be done. It's not turning out the way I originally planned and I might sort of hate that...and I'm 3 days behind schedule.

more work

I probably just created more work for myself, but I printed out the first 2 parts (15 pages) of my [livejournal.com profile] casestory fic and I'm editing them with red pen. but that wasn't the reason I printed them out. I wanted them so that I could easily refer to them while working on parts 3, 4 and 5 and I didn't have to continually open the documents for those parts. once i finish part 3, I'll print that out to help with part 4 and 5...later, rinse, repeat until the story is complete.

Then I'll go through and transfer the corrections from the hard copy to the digital copy and email to my beta ([livejournal.com profile] huntress69, will you be able to look over 10-12k words? I don't know when I'll be finish with it, but I hope I'll be done in the next 14-15 days)

working with the hard copy of this fic reminds me of editing essays for school...or how I used to hand write my fics back when I first started writing in 2002. and also reading this out loud has me feeling better about the story as a whole. not quite as much self doubt and comparing going on.
simplyn2deep: (Default)
I've never been one for comparing my fics with other fics, but for some reason, I'm thinking mine is going to totally suck.

Reading part 2 of [livejournal.com profile] kristen999's [livejournal.com profile] casestory fic High Stakes, Desperate Measures and wishing mine read just as good as hers.

And on top of that, I've got a month until I'm to post. I really shouldn't have procrastinated, but I'll make the 10,000 and probably then some. I also need to finish it soon because I need to find a beta and email [livejournal.com profile] bluedelft the pics for the graphics.

arg!

I have to remember this fic I'm working on is past tense. I need to get in the habit of writing in that form, but I keep slipping to present tense.

good thing this fic will be beta read before I post it.

In an hour, broken up into two 30 minutes blocks, I wrote 650 words (or there abouts).

w00t w00t!

just plotted out chapter 17 and the epilogue of But Why Daddy?!

I should be completely finish with the story (and have it all posted) by the end of May.

Thank goodness too! I can now concentrate back on my [livejournal.com profile] casestory fic! my posting day is July 10, and I haven't worked on the fic in a few weeks. I also need to get some pics to [livejournal.com profile] bluedelft so she can maybe hopefully do my art for it. yay!

now for a reward for my hard work. a movie! Percy Jackson and the Olympians: The Lightening Thief!

you know how when cookie cutter houses are built and the community is give like a fancy or idealistic name, like Rainbow Acres, or Rosewood Farm...I don't know, something like that.

anyways, are those called housing developments? this has been bugging me for the last hour lol

and this is partly to blame because I'm still thinking about the new Five-0 thing I posted about last night.

time is running out for me to get the last bits of my rough draft for [livejournal.com profile] casestory down. I need to have 7,000 and I'm over that mark already, but I want to wrap some scenes up so now I'm not sending it off without anything too incomplete. I seem to get work done for it in 500 word increments ever day. Have to e-mail it off on Tuesday, so I'm hoping to get a lot more done today and tomorrow.

yes!

thank you jeebus!

I met and exceeded the minimum word count needed for the rough draft for Restaurant at the End of Piikoi Street (my [livejournal.com profile] casestory fic)! Rough draft is due in 8 days on May 1st!

Part 1 is complete, part 2 is 60% complete, part 3 is not even 10% complete, part 4 is in outline form and part five is maybe 25% complete. I know that doesn't add up to 100%, but the way I tackled this is to treat each part as it's own little story, so I can jump around to each part as I get an idea.

7200 / 10000 (72.00%)

This says I'm 72% done, but I'm really not. This story is going to more than likely go over 10,000 words, especially is each part is around 2,500-2,800 words

I always get a bit of a thrill when I see that someone's bookmarked one of my stories on AO3

now I will concentrate on my next writing project. Restaurant at the End of Piikoi Street for [livejournal.com profile] casestory. I need a 7,000 word rough draft or outline for unfinished scenes by May 1st. I also really need to work out where and when to put this background information I created. I worked the hardest on the before actually starting on the story, and I'd really hate for it to end up on the cutting room floor, so to speak.

Easter program at church was okay. we flubbed some parts but *shrugs* I believe it was only noticeable to those in the choir. They're already talking about practicing for Christmas. wtf?!

Went to my sister's for dinner. Didn't see her children's father, so that's a plus. Down side is that I went to my sister's for dinner.

I want to spend time with my family, but when I do, it doesn't take long for me to long to be back in my room on the computer...or anywhere not with them.

They were watching tv, and I'll admit, I've gotten to be rather picky in what I watch. 30-60 minutes watching a program I don't like is 30-60 minutes I'll never get back.

in writing news... )

I need sleep.

working on Restaurant at the End of Piikoi Street for [livejournal.com profile] casestory

4604 / 10000 (46.04%)

Last night it was 4,208 words

I wrote 396 words today. My goal is 1,000 (a day). Just 604 more words! I can do this.

it grew!

Someone commented how my Danny has a stalker fic was jarring because of the shift in tenses so I went back and edited it. It ended up being 8,500 words (according to AO3)

When the Past Won't Leave You Alone: AO3 | LJ

Now I really need to concentrate on my [livejournal.com profile] casestory fic. Telling the title won't be giving too much away, right? I'd much rather refer to it by title than continually calling it "my [livejournal.com profile] casestory fic". so the title of said fic is Restaurant at the End of Piikoi Street.

Now to write.
simplyn2deep: (Default)
With one fic done, it's time to concentrate on my next task. My [livejournal.com profile] casestory fic.

I feel like I should be further along than I am...but then I realize the reason I feel that way is because of how detailed my outline is. Once I actually devote time to expanding the outline so that it's actually the story, I will get farther.

4208 / 10000 (42.08%)

Let's see how many words I can get done in the next 28 days...
simplyn2deep: (Default)
[livejournal.com profile] stevedannoslash Spring Fling 2012 fic 1,000 word was the minimum. my goal was 5,000. I'd say I surpassed that! Final due April 16
7580 / 9000 (84.22%)

[livejournal.com profile] casestory fic rough draft due May 1st, but then there's another month or so before the final is due. Minimum of 10,000 words
3938 / 10000 (39.38%)

I've really fallen behind with this fic. I should have as I have it all plotted out any everything, but I keep falling back on the Spring Fling fic.

[livejournal.com profile] hawaii_bigbang fic 8,000 word rough draft due June 17. 10,000 word final due August 20
317 / 10000 (3.17%)

laughable what I don't have written. Like at all. Well there are my notes, but those aren't complete thoughts or scenes.

[livejournal.com profile] serialkillerbb fic I have my bare bones outline for this. I haven't given this anymore thought since I signed up 10 days ago. Rough draft due July 15. Final due September 1

so I'm reading a fic and it gives me an idea for how the last art of my [livejournal.com profile] casestory fic!

I had a general idea of what I wanted to happen, but didn't know how I could go about executing it, but the fic I read gave me the idea.

yay!

I hope I'm able to get roughly 2000 words out of the idea. I seem to be pretty long winded when it comes to this fic, so I probably shouldn't worry too much about that.
simplyn2deep: (Default)
I mentioned that I'd never written a case fic before, but somehow forgot all about Call Me Danno! That whole fic surrounds the teams search for a missing girl...and umm...that's a case. lol

Writing the investigation of the case has been super easy and fun. I don't know why the case in my [livejournal.com profile] casestory fic is so difficult to write

simplyn2deep: (Default)
wouldn't you know it...I got this idea for part 3 of my [Bad username or site: @ livejournal.com] fic and jumped right into typing it up. There's also smut. I didn't think I'd be writing smut for this particular story, either. After 30 minutes, I had the part complete!

now I have to go back and work on part 2 and make sure the ending works with the beginning I created for part 3. boy am I doing this writing thing backwards! Once I finished part 3, I worked on the ending of part 2. Wasn't so hard since I knew what was going to happen. So I have the beginning and ending of part 2 done. Now for the elusive middle lol

eta: sign ups for round 2 of [livejournal.com profile] hawaii_bigbang will be March 9-April 30

I'm plotting and I still don't know if I really want to do it.

who am I kidding...I probably will. It might be a fusion. I'd really like to do that.
