Apparently, the fee for Spring 2021 is due Jan 25 Jan 26. Thankfully I have a fee waiver that covers my classes, but I still have to pay the student health fee ($20), College Services Card (I think that's what they're calling the ASB as proof that they're a current student - $20) and Student Representative fee $2. That's $42 compared to almost $600 that I would have to pay for classes and fees...but I can't forget about books. I don't even know how much those are going to be or if there are going to be any. But I'll know in about 16 days when classes start on Feb 8.

Oh! I got an email about speaking with a counselor to make/update my Education Plan but by the time I saw it, it was too late in the day to do anything and then on Friday I just plain forgot. I really need to do something on Monday. The sooner I can do it, the sooner I can maybe switch classes around - if the counselor can do that but I don't mind taking class that I don't if it will make me be full time and help my overall GPA.

Monday I have an appt with the optometrist to check my eyes and update the prescription for my glasses. I hope they don't charge a lot for the actual glasses. I have VSP Vision Care for my vision care insurance and at the other optometrist I went to, they had specific lines of glasses that were "covered" with that insurance where I'd only have to pay out of pocket for the frames or something. I think it was like $80 and I had them in a week. So I hope this location (they're in the same building as the opthalmologist) is done the same way.

I still haven't been able to make an appt to see the dentist...but I also haven't been actually trying. I know I need to do it soon, but I'm still rather upset that I can't use the dental office I actually signed up with because they're no longer accepting new patients at that location. UGH!

I've been doing quite a bit of cooking the few weeks. Like, actual cooking, imo, with cutting up ingredients, cooking them and plating the finished product. It just so happens, that these meals have been done with help of the crockpot and 6-8 hours of cooking. Three meals here. My attempt at Caprese Salad (I was missing the basil). Last night's dinner (which is also dinner for tonight as well).

Now I have to help Kim with her shower, get our clothes ready for church tomorrow and heat up dinner.

Hope you all have had a productive/restful weekend.

I think my parents have some aversion to places like Subway and Quiznos.

They ask me where I want to eat after church on Sundays and if I suggest Subway, the idea gets vetoed.

I'm asked where I want to eat and they say no?! It's not like I suggested some high end, dress fancy place.

So we end up at Taco Bell, Carl's Jr. or on the rare occasion, Jack in the Box.

I don't have anything against those places, in fact, nearly every Friday I get Jack in the Box on the way to work or Taco Bell on the way home, but don't ask me what I want for lunch and say no. I'm not asking you to pay for it. Just stop by one of the 3 subway locations we pass on the way home.

And yes, I am hungry. For Carl's Jr. this time.

A couple weeks ago I watched Captain America. I thought it was too slow, but it was more funny than it was meant to be? I don't know.

Last night I watched Thor. it was a much better super hero movie! Action all the way through and lightly peppered with funny stuff.

I think I'm ready to watch The Avengers even though I haven't seen either Iron Man movie (and have no real desire to) and I haven't seen the Hulk (any versions of it).

I just finished watching the Nero Wolfe series. I really liked it and sort of wish there was more. I have Gamer, Natural Born Killers and Where the Wild Things Are to watch...as well as whatever other pre-ordered movies are set to be delivered to me in the coming weeks. I need something to help me get through all the packing I've been doing.

Hmm...what to have to breakfast. I'd like to have a bowl of cereal, but I don't think what we have (stale raisin bran isn't as appealing as my dad thinks) and well driving...let's not go there.

I need a new dvd player. mine keeps freezing. I hates it. but I'm glad that I'm able to watch something with it. for the last 4 months I couldn't, so I need to stop complaining about it.

made cranberry jello/salad dish. strawberry jell-o and fresh cranberries. debating on if I should take it tomorrow evening for the trivia night at the church or pick up jell-o cups. decisions. decisions.

I could really go for about 10 street tacos right now. Okay, so maybe not that many, but omg I want some!

But I'm broker and broke. Less than $1.00 to my name and it's not Taco Tuesday where I can get them for like 50¢.

I'd even go for some Taco Bell, but it's the street tacos I really want.

In non-food related stuff, I decided that my fic for the Spring Fling at [livejournal.com profile] stevedannoslash is going to be 5,000 words because the set up to the actual prompt is nearly 1,000 words. Then I also decided that each "part" is going to be 1,000 and will cover pretty much the entire prompt. I'm having a lot of fun writing it and doing some research for it.

tried cross posting this, but for some reason, it wouldn't work

Every time my dad goes to the thrift store or the Salvation Army, he checks out the movies they have (I do as well, but he goes nearly DAILY!).

Because of that, we have a growing collection of Star Trek: The Next Generation VHS tapes.

So, I'm bored and hungry (there isn't really anything to cook, why does that always happen when my mom goes away!?) and decided to organize the Star Trek movies (and watch them as well.

Wikipedia to the rescue with the episode order.

We don't have a complete season (yet), but quite a few episodes from seasons 2, 3, 4, and 6.

Still hungry, so I think I'm going to put on some hot dogs and either have pork and bean or chili with them. I'd really like my dad to bring home some fast food though. I just don't know where he's at (he's been gone for about 4 hours now).

wow, I used parentheses a lot in this entry!
