Just wondering

When you were a kid, did you hang up a stocking? What did you always expect/hope to find in it?
I want to say no, but I think I did...at least once it wasn't the mesh kind from the store that had nuts, fruit, candy and some toys. I never had an expectation of getting anything, but it was usually money

What is your favorite holiday song to sing (and it doesn't have to be well as long as you enjoy it)?

Do you feel that the pandemic has made more people aware of the issues (hunger, homelessness, etc.) that exist all year round and not just at Christmas
I think so, but I also feel like people are more selfish because they don't want to end up like them.

I wrapped up the gifts. There are now 5 packages under the tree. It seems kind of useless to have this big tree with so few gifts. I know come Friday there will be more, but right now it looks rather meh.

I think I'm over Christmas now.

I'm worried about the turkey, I want to eat all the junk food but that's not helping my weight (so I eat all the fruit, but not all of it).

Phone consult with my dr in the morning. The results of my pap smear came back (negative for anything) but she still wants to talk about them. Okay. I'll also ask if I need a referral to man an appt with the ophthalmologist or if I can do that myself. I need my eyes checked better than what the optometrist does and get a better prescription for my glasses (should have gotten them 2 years ago but didn't have money).

Now I go to sleep.

I don't understand what she wants to talk about if it came back normal. I wish I could put any packages under the tree, but we can't unti it's time to open them. Life with cats...

I don't either. She asked if I got the letter she "sent", which I did. I don't have to do the pap smear for 3 years (which is interesting because my previous dr wanted it every 2 years, I think).

But the call gave me the chance to ask about the referral to see the ophthalmologist. She didn't really answer my question about whether I needed the referral, but she started asking questions about why I thought I needed it and said okay, she would set it up. Oh. Okay.

When I had my cat, I don't remember her getting into gifts. She got into everything else and played with gift bags and wrapping paper after they were opened. She also loved to play with the wrapping paper tube

I think it's an insurance thing. I hear they are cutting back mammograms to every two years now.

Good, I'm glad you got your referral.

Mine rip paper, pee all over them and generally behave badly. It's easiest to not deal with it than it is to yell at them.

I didn't know that. I guess I'm not quite to the age of needing one (a couple of more years and I'm sure I'll be talked to about it), though I did have an ultrasound done because during an exam a few years ago, the dr thought she felt something and wasn't sure if I had fibrocystic breasts and turns out I do and they're dense.

I definitely have traits from both of my grandmothers and the appearance of the aunts on both sides of my family lol

I miss having a cat that gets into things. I miss having a cat period.

When I was a "kid" - I had several Xmas's where my stocking was brought into my room Christmas morning, and put at my feet. I would be woken up and see what all was in it!!

I don't know about that... I think maybe it's brought the global news / media ... And medical community collectively, together in terms of statistics ...
