An Alternate Universe where Catherine was the Detective from the mainland assigned to Steve's Dad's case, and Danny was the Navy Intelligence Officer who Steve was always calling for help with an offer of a good "steak diner" next time Danny was in port.

eta I think I'm going to do this myself. I've picked some episodes I want to re-work and I'm bouncing ideas off of one of my writing cheerleaders. I probably won't get to it until the New Year though.
