reading about [livejournal.com profile] gothikmaus and when she saw "No Way Around But Through" and I'm shocked at all the people she noticed that I didn't.

She said that Autumn Reeser was at the June 30th show. I didn't see her. Not that I was paying attention for her.

and I wish I could have gone on Sunday too! Lauren German was there?

Closing weekend is out. This Saturday I'll be at an all day (kind of sort of) church event and as person responsible for the food, I kind of need to be there for opening and closing. And Sundays...well I don't like going anywhere too far because I have to be up early on Mondays and my sleep schedule is already out of whack.

First, super duper mega thanks to [Bad username or site: @ livejournal.com] for buying a ticket for me to see Scott's play again.
Second, super duper mega thanks to [Bad username or site: @ livejournal.com] for my "Hawaii Five-0 Survival Bag" (I think that's what she called it). I LOVE the stuff that's in it! I'll post pictures tomorrow...err later today. Pictures have been posted here.
Third, I didn't end up on the news! [livejournal.com profile] bluedelft will know what I'm talking about.

Now for the details.

I already mentioned that [Bad username or site: @ livejournal.com] bought me a ticket to see Scott's play again while she's out here and that was today...err yesterday (Saturday), well we were supposed to meet up for dinner a couple of hours before the play, but life in general was conspiring against me or something.

My mom's car keys wouldn't start the car for some reason, so my dad spent something like 30 minutes looking for his keys, then my mom tried her keys again, and the car started up. Then, we were about 30 minutes from the Falcon Theatre when the car over heated! This is the car that had spent 3 weeks in the shop previously! IT SHOULDN'T BE OVERHEATING! We would get 2 or 3 miles and have to pull over for 10 minutes. I got to a point where I was visibly shaking because I was so pissed off at my dad. Did that all the way until about 8:10 pm when the car limped into the parking lot at Bob's Big Boy.

I ran across the street and was able to get into the play at the end of the first act. No money wasted on a ticket! Then intermission came and I was properly able to meet [Bad username or site: @ livejournal.com], her sister and [livejournal.com profile] gyri. Was given my "Survival Bag" (which I promptly opened in the car and squeed over)! We watched the rest of the play (funny the 2nd time around and I had some of the dialogue memorized too) then went to the lobby to wait for the cast to come out. I had better luck this time around than I did on the 16th. I didn't get Scott's autograph, picture or a hug (like [livejournal.com profile] bluedelft and [livejournal.com profile] gyri got on Friday), but OMG I was right there with him (when [livejournal.com profile] bluedelft got a second hug)! I WAS BREATHING THE SAME AIR AS HIM! We waited around more hoping he'd come back out so I could work up the nerve to ask for an autograph or picture, but he never came back out. Oh well.

We finally got kicked out the Theatre so they could lock up and as we went out separate ways, I hustled to the stop light in time to see Scott driving away in his blue truck with Dot riding shotgun. I would have followed for like a block if I had a car!

Then on the way home...OMG! I got picked up at 11 pm and didn't get home until 1:50 am! IT TOOK ALMOST 3 HOURS TO GET FROM BURBANK TO DOWNEY! That's ridiculous! We had to keep stopping because the car was overheating! I think we maybe went 2 miles on the freeway, then took the streets all the way home. I'm sort of glad I didn't drive by myself, but OMG! My dad kept telling me I had to be the navigator and then was telling me I had to look out for the street names as well. I'm sorry, I don't have 2 sets of eyes! I can't look at the map and look at street names outside the car. He also took the long way to get to the freeway after he picked me up. I kept telling him "turn around and it's 1.5 miles back to the 101 Freeway. It's the same way Lora and I went on the 16th". he kept saying "we haven't gotten to the 101 freeway." He ended up going something like 3 miles BACK because when we got on the freeway, 3-4 miles later, we got to the street where we would have gotten ON the freeway at! DON'T ASK ME TO BE THE NAVIGATOR IF YOU WON'T TAKE MY ADVICE! I don't "re-calculate" when you gt turned around. I will fucking ignore you and let you find your own way.

now about why I didn't end up on the news...I was so pissed at my dad on the way to the play that I wanted to hit something or someone. at one point I even tweeted that I was stepping away from all electronic devices for the night. I was so mad and didn't want to put something out there that I'd have a hard time explaining once I calmed down. I'm still pissed, but there's still nothing I can do about it.

Going to read a fic before going to sleep.

It took my mom 5 days to get with the program and get me some snacks so that I could take them with me when I go to Jury Duty.

Granted, I said I'd get them, but then I turned around and said I was broke (only not really because I kept some money out for Saturday night) and wasn't really eating anything...which wasn't true because I've been spending the money that was for my phone bill on food.

anyways, mom got me some drinks, cupped applesauce and pudding cups. when I went to the store this evening (I DROVE BY MYSELF AT NIGHT!) I picked up 2 lunchables. Tomorrow I'm going to try my hardest not to go to the court cafeteria for food. $6.80 gets me a lot of food, but I'd like to have some spending money for Saturday night!

anyways, my room is way too hot. jury duty is going okay; should be done with testimony tomorrow but crossing my fingers that it gets wrapped up on Monday so we can have Friday off. There's a cut security guy who works the first floor of the courthouse. He reminds me of Coby Bell from The Game.

now I'm going to bed.

jury duty

there's not much I can say on the matter. I was called for a case and called to sit in the jury box, then told I needed to come back tomorrow morning.

I was sure that I would be excused (back to the jury room) because of my job and the nature of the crime. I work at a church, and let's leave it at that until I know if I'm on the case.

There's still maybe 20 or 30 people the judge, prosecution and defense need to question before the jury is finalized. The trial is expected to last 8 days. I don't know if that includes deliberation or not.

Seeing the courtroom from the jury box, is certainly something else. I thought it was pretty cool. Kind of annoyed that the judge and 2 lawyers kept bringing up the jurors ages and how there weren't any "older people" to choose from or something.

Something I can talk about is that I saw the mother of one of my childhood friends. She didn't remember my name, but I remembered hers. I didn't get much chance to talk to her as she works in the jury room and there were a lot of jurors coming and going with questions.

So...for tomorrow, I have to leave at 630, again, because I have to be outside the courtroom where the trial is no later than 830 am. I've already e-mailed N and J about my selection and told them I wouldn't be in tomorrow. I'll know once I finish tomorrow evening if I'll be on the case (and taking 8-10 days away from volunteering) or if they can schedule me for next week.

eta also, it looks like going to see NWABT for 2nd or 3rd time might be out. I can't crunch the money anymore to come up with an extra $42 for 1 day, let alone 2 days. I has the sad.

Went to see No Way Around But Through yesterday afternoon with Lora.

Got to the Theatre with literally SECONDS to spare. Okay, so maybe not seconds, but we cut it pretty close. And it was mostly because Lora picked me up 20 minutes late and there was HORRIBLE traffic on the 5 Freeway and the 101 Freeway. Once we got off the freeway, we had very little trouble finding the Theatre or parking.

I'm not going to give anything away about the play. There are some on my flist who will be seeing it later this month (I'll be going again as well!) and I don't want to spoil them. I will, however, say I was like 5 ft from Scott's ass and I had to clamp my hand over my mouth to keep from giggling. I am 12.

There was an intermission. I want to say 15 minutes? But I was busy catching up on twitter and reading a few quick fics.

The discussions between Jake and Holly reminded me so much of Steve & Danny's carguments. and some of the lines easily could have been delivered by Danny to Steve.

I thought I'd have a difficult time keeping Scott as Jake apart from Scott as Danny, but Scott's facial hair really went a long way to keep them apart.

I'm convinced that Scott is a hand talker.

After the play, Lora and I stuck around for like 40 minutes. Saw Melanie Griffith outside under an umbrella and Robyn Cohen talking with her family, but no Scott (or Dot), Val or Bre. I did get a picture of Scott's truck (which needs to be washed). I'm hoping that on the 29th, I'll have better luck *fingers crossed*

so I FINALLY have the money to buy the tickets for the June 16 showing of No Way Around But Through, and I get to the end to submit my payment and get this message:

https://falcontheatre.secure.force.com/ticket/ is down for maintenance

Sorry for the inconvenience. We'll be back shortly. Please email us if you need to get in touch.

so i don't know if my payment went through and I have other bills to pay and argh!

I'll have to wait until Wednesday to check since tomorrow is Election Day here in California and I'll be gone from 530 am - 10 pm or 11 pm

and...is it me, or does the internet seem slow today? Has the consistent 502 errors from AO3 spread to other places and people just aren't on the net anymore? LOL

I want new fic to read! [livejournal.com profile] qweenmewwy has been posting links to fics on her twitter. some I've read and some I haven't, so that's been keeping me distracted.

anyways, I should probably turn in. I have to be up early tomorrow and it's going to be a loooooooong day. I won't be able to have my laptop to get on the internet, but I'll have my phone and I have limited access to the internet there.

How could I forget to add this to my previous good news post!

Scott's play, No Way Around but Through, starts tonight! June 1 & 2 are preview nights (I was hoping to go tonight, but alas, I can't) and Sunday, June 3, is opening night.

Looking forward to reading some reviews (that's not something I usually do either - read reviews)

ps I need to add more Scott icons.
