Lizet's Place

Saturday night? The football game was great! It rained off and on, but not enough to get soaking wet. DHS (my high school) won! 33-25! Then on the way home I had a driving adventure. I got lost on the way back to my sister's from a football game and had to pull over to pull up the directions on my phone. thank goodness I have a maps app and it gave me simple enough directions to get back to my sister's.

Sunday was church and pretty uneventful. Sunday night, however was different. I'm nearly at my wits end with my niece. She complains about the movies I watch, last night I watched 1.5 Sean Connery Bond movies but stopped the 2nd one because she was complaining so much. So I put on Percy Jackson and the Olympians and that set her off even more...she ended up turning on the other tv in the living room and watching all those animated Sunday night shows on Fox. I wouldn't have had a problem with that if 1) the tv wasn't right near where I was sitting, and 2) I wasn't already watching a movie. I decided I'm taking my movies back to storage. She's lost the privilege to watch them. I also won't be picking her up from school. Her dad pays for her monthly bus pass, she needs to use it. I'm basically not going to do anything else for her unless my sister asks me to.

Then today...oh boy today. I went to do my usual volunteering at the courthouse and I parked in the parking structure...however, before I could get my belongings out of the car, the door closed and it was locked! OMG no! my jacket, purse, keys and cell phone locked in the car! None of the windows were down so I couldn't force it lower to reach in and unlock it. So, what could I do? I went to the courthouse, checked my e-mail for my dad & mom's cell phone number, called them and got the insurance number, then called AAA where I found out that while I may be on their insurance, I'm not on their roadside assistance thingy and my dad would have to call in. GREAT! I call my dad back and he was like "looks like you have a problem..." and suggested I borrow money from someone and take the bus to my sisters, get the other set of keys, get the bus back and get the car. Only prolem with that is the parking structure closes at 5 pm and it's probably take me 2 hours and more than a couple of dollars to get from the courthouse to my sister's place and then I would have to wait for someone to get there (which would have been around 3 or 4 pm) another couple of hours to get back to the courthouse...and that's if the buses are running on time! So, I guess my mom talked him into calling AAA and getting someone to come out and open the door for me because he said to call him back when I finished and he'd call AAA. I managed to do my work, call my dad back, then wait 30 minutes for the guy from AAA to come. He gets the door open in 10 minutes and all is right with the world.

Now I'm in my office trying to get my e-mail sorted and guess what...STILL HAVING PROBLEMS WITH THE INTERNET! I'm going to have to call Time Warner tomorrow. Something's going on with the connection, despite everything showing I'm connected. pages shouldn't just not load. I still haven't been able to download like 4 shows!

That's what I should have done!

So I'm packing up more boxes and it dawned on me that while I'm labeling what in the box, I should have also made a note as to if I was bringing it back in my room. It makes sense to do that since once we're able to move back in, I'll only want the essentials - I don't want my room to look like a storage closet again.

The rest of the boxes I pack will be more "organized" but not really. I'll be marking whether they'll be returning to my room or remaining in storage. That will also help with we finally move to the larger unit. The stuff not coming back can be put in the back of the unit where as the stuff returning will obviously go to the front.

I honestly don't know why I didn't think of doing that before. I wonder if I should be nice and suggest to my parents they do the same thing. Our memories aren't what they used to be and we may know RIGHT NOW what's coming back and what isn't, come mid-December, I highly doubt we'll remember.

Now for the fun. Friday night was the yearly Downey/Warren football game. Crosstown rivals and all that so for that reason, it's a HUGE game.

I didn't get many pictures (fiddling with a camera, even on the phone, will cause you to miss something awesome...but then you won't have that "something awesome" in print to show off), but I got maybe 5 or 6 plus a video at the end.

I...bit the bullet

First thing's first: DHS BEAT OXNARD 31-21!!! Marlin didn't get to play, but he got to suit up

Back to after the game. While waiting for Marlin to come out of the locker room, I finally asked my sister if I (and my cat) could stay with her while our parents are away and the apartment is being worked on. She said yes! however, Marlin is allergic to my cat, so I'm going to need to find someone to take her for 4.5-5 weeks. I'm already freaking out about this. The longest I've been away from her is the 10 days or so while I was traveling to/from Florida, but then my parents were there, and we were still in the apartment. And it's like hard to explain, I don't think anyone else should have to watch her because she's my cat. It's just going to be weird without her. I don't now. But my sister said we'd talk about details later. I would also assume this means what can be done about the cat. I'm sure I can always ask Lora, but my cat's never been around other animals and I don't want her freaking out and/or being too much trouble for Lora and her family. *sighs* eta I did a quick search and found that Downey Veterinary Hospital near my bank, has animal boarding. It wouldn't hurt to see how much it would cost, right? Probably a lot, but I need to know in case it becomes necessary.

For tomorrow, Anastacia asked if I could go over to her place and dye her hair. I said I'd have to ask if I could get dropped off. She said that if I can, she'd take me home. Well, dad's going to be gone from 7-2 or 3 pm, so I can't be dropped off. Option 2, take the bus and have her to pick me up at the stop. I sent her a text and she said she could do that. So tomorrow morning I'll be leaving at 9:50am and getting picked up at the bus stop roughly an hour later. She wanted me at her place at 11 am. This works out. I hope I'm back home by 5. I like going there for the free cable, but sometimes she annoys me.

I wanted to watch the game online on my dad's computer but the video player at nbc sports won't load. UGH

I have the radio in my room set to ESPN so when the game starts I can listen. also thinking about writing something. I don't know what though. Maybe Steve & Danny back in Jersey watching the game with the Williams family or maybe Grace sick and wants Steve to cuddle with her and Danny's hurt that his daughter doesn't want his cuddles anymore. I don't know. something. I need to do something. perhaps sleep.
