didn't realize how annoying it was until I saw it SEVERAL times in a fic.

the Taskforce, to my knowledge, is just called 5-0. If they're actually called "Hawaii 5-0", please point me to an episode where that's actually said, because all I can hear in my head is (Kono saying) "5-0! freeze!" or some variation of that.

Also, seeing SEALs not properly capitalized. It isn't enough to capitalize the first letter. all letters, minus the s on the end are capitalized

Both of those things annoy the crap out of me too. I usually type it out at Five-0. It just looks better and when I see 5-0 I always want to read it as 50.

Really? Hawaii Five-O? OMG.

I also think my brain has been in edit mode too long b/c some of the fics I've read of late have driven me batty with their shifting POV. Please stick to a single POV through a whole scene...my head feels like a pinball when it bounces.

OH! also something this particular fic had almost broke the fourth wall. The writer had Danny walking down the street and looking at a billboard for "Sunset on the Beach" and some tv show that was going to have its premiere and he noticed fans picking their spot for the viewing. I was like "OMG really!?"

but other than that, I really liked what I read of the fic.

I am nitpicky right there with you because shifting POV is my biggest peeve! It's something I am extremely aware of and meticulous about when I beta, and it drives me up a wall to see sloppy POV slips/shifts. I pointed this out to someone I betaed for once, and she said, "Yeah, my other beta said the same thing but I like it this way so I'm just going to keep it." I think my head exploded.

what's the point of having a beta if you're going to keep doing things your own way?

if it's just for SPAG, get a dictionary and grammar book and do it yourself, because I think switching between POV messes with the flow of the piece

I try to write the way that's easy for me to read, and more than likely, it's easy for others to read too.
