so I get that Malia's a doctor, but I thought she was an oncologist...or did she just happen to work at the oncology center?

I guess if she was an oncologist, that wouldn't stop her from lending aid in the various situations the team happens to be apart of and she happens to be there...

I'm so very confused and it's far too early for me to be thinking this much

The Hippocratic Oath as well as basic moral imperatives, (I would think) would pretty much require that a doctor would render aid in an emergency situation, even if the aid was outside their field of specialty.

That's what I'm thinking too, but sometimes it just throws me for a loop when I read it in fic, like Malia is 5-0's personal doctor since she's married to Chin now.
