I'll be the first to admit that I don't too much care about the specific details of the tv shows I watch, but I'm doing some research for a fic and I got curious about the particulars.

well anyways, on the H50 wiki page, it's listed that John McGarrett was born March 5, 1942. Was this date actually mentioned on the show...or did some fan just make it up to put on the page?

I forgot the other stuff I was going to look up because I got distracted by the comments left in this post in tailoredshirt LJ

I believe that was the date on the grave marker when Steve went to visit it. I can't remember if that was the pilot or the ep where he and Mary went for the picnic.

I remember because folks figured out that Steve's grandmother had to have been pregnant with him when Pearl Harbor happened and his grandfather was killed on the Arizona. It led to speculation that she must have had family in the islands.

It's on John (Jack)'s gravestone in Lanakila, which is Ep 4 of S1. It's in the last scene of the ep, where Steve & Mary have a picnic, of sorts, at their Dad's graveside. Also... his Date of Death is listed on the marker as September 20, 2010--the date of the Series/S1 Premiere.
