The Christmas dinner with the women from the Spanish church was a lot of fun. The dinner was at a Mexican Restaurant in Norwalk called Los Compadres. I wanted steak, but apparently we were limited to 3 different types of dishes, so I chose the mixed fajitas (steak, chicken and shrimp). After that we went to the Pastor's house for desert and to do a gift exchange. Lora and I weren't apart of the gift exchange, but it was a lot of fun watching the women get all excited. And how they did the actual exchange was interesting - each person who got up had to describe the person who they bought the gift for...but opposite. Meaning if the lady was tall, you had to say she was short, if she had short hair, you had to say she had long hair...and so on. Of course, this was all done in Spanish. Maybe I'll relearn the language if I continue to do activities with them. They're supposed to go to Disneyland on the 10th, bu I decided what little money I have would be better suited going to [livejournal.com profile] masheek2's birthday party on the 17th.

:) Lora and I will be singing O Holy Night on the 18th. I'm so excited because when we practiced it today our voices blended so nicely (thank God I changed it from a C to a G or I would have cracked trying to hit the high notes) and I got the chills. I know I'm doing well when I get the chills while singing lol

:( Hawaii is out. Lora had the travel forms I needed to fill out since October 21 and they needed to be mailed in with a check/money order for the hotel & airline taxes/fees by November 21st...and she just gave me the forms TODAY! I guess it's a good thing because this means I can concentrate on saving for my birthday cruise in september and possibly try for Hawaii in 2013 because there's no way I'd get money saved to go before they (H50) wrap filming in March(?)

:) Lora & I have agreed on part of our baseball plans. I know which plan we want for sure and we know the section we'd like to be in. All that's left is for me to call into Brian with tickey sales at Angels Stadium and purchase the vouchers/tickets. I don't know if we'll be getting physical tickets or vouchers that we turn in for tickets. In any case - YAY BASEBALL!

I think I'll see what I make for dinner in an hour - probably chicken & rice.

Sounds like you had such a fun night! What a great way to exchange gifts. Never seen it done that way.

O Holy Night is one of my favorites!

I so want to go to Hawaii and my sister and I keep talking about it. Probably won't be for awhile since I just started the new job and right now my sister's job is temp. There is also the thing of saving up the money too ;-)

I'm trying to remember the last time I was apart of a secret santa/gift exchange and both times (the only times lol) it went by age - either the oldest started or the youngest started. and at one of the exchanges, we did kind of a white elephant exchange and scored like 6 country CDs that Christmas. I loved it

This version of O Holy Night has a different arangement than I'm used to. There's a 2nd verse I don't recall ever singing. I'm hoping that at the next practice I can get my mom to do a voice/video recording...or maybe when we actually sing it on Sunday. That would be fun. I'd totally post it for ppl to see/listen to.

The trip to Hawaii that Lora and I were going to go to was a thank you gift for a timeshare presentation we went to. The guy who signed us up said that it would be 2.5-3 hrs tops, but it ended up being 6 freakin' hours! But I got to see Jerry Springer at the resort. no picture tho because the guide wasn't supposed to point him out to us lol

It's been a long time since I've done a secret Santa. What I've done lately are the yankee swaps and those can be so much fun.

Country music.....YEAH! When we were decorating yesterday my sister and I were listening Christmas music by country artists.

I would love to hear/see you singing! That would be so cool!

Jerry Springer he was on Dancing With the Stars a few seasons ago and I'll admit I've watched his show when I've been home.

a few Christmases ago, well maybe 6 ago, the choir director set up a video camera to record our program and she was so adamant about her set up being correct that she wouldn't listen to the suggestion I had. In the end there was nice video, but horrible sound because no one was actually manning the camera to make sure the volume levels stayed high. After that she would do it anymore.

I watched Jerry on DWTS. He wasn't the best dancer on the show, but he wanted to do it to dance at his daughter's wedding and I thought that was so sweet. I used to watch his tv show too. back when it started out as like reunion shows and then evolved into what it is today. But I prefer Maury or Steve Wilkos

It's nice having the video but you'd think she would have listened so that the sound would be good too.

I felt the same way in regards to Jerry on DWTS.

While channeling surfing during the day I've watched all of those shows I think. When I was unemployed it got to the point where I would stop watching the tv and find something else to do, like learn how to make graphics.

when my last pastor was alive, but really sick in the hospital, his wife asked us to record his memorial service. I handled that and the wife liked it. good image and sound quality and I set it up so that in between people telling what they remembered about the pastor, there would be music and a slide show of sorts on the dvd (of course it was added during the editing process)

the only reason I stopped watching was because the digital converter boxes broke. now we only have 1 and it's in my parents room

I was bummed there was no new episode last week and thought my week would go by slow, but it kind of went by fast...it just seems to go by faster on weeks when there's a new episode lol

I didn't know they had Los Compadres in Norwalk. We have 2 in Long Beach. They have the best guacamole!

I need to look into the Angel's tickets. Reana wants to go to all 3 Giants games in June.

And for the wine bar - the wine is about $8 a glass and appetizers are $8 to $10 each. You're not a big wine drinker, right? They have a moscato that my sister loves. It tastes like juice.

It's on Rosecrans and Jersey right before Pioneer. Lora and I passed it 3 times because it isn't well lit on the "front" and the entrance is on the side. I'm not much of a guacamole eater. I got sick on it years ago and after that I won't (knowingly) eat anything with avocado in it.

I got an order form in the mail to "renew" my ticket plan. either the freedom plan, halo plan, 20-game flex plan or diamond field box. the last 2 are out of our price range and the halo plan lets us choose from 70+ home games and the seats are better. It's $150/plan but split between me and Lora that's $85 a piece. we can totally swing that (ha!) with the Halo plan, only 1 of the Giants games is available (on the 20th). Lora and I pick the games we go to based on the promotion being offered. This season we got a shirt, cooler/lunch bag and the beer stein and a blanket. next season they're offering a seat cushion. I'd like that...and maybe another t-shirt

I will drink anything fruity and alcoholic lol but I do like a glass of wine and I'm not too picky about it lol
