[livejournal.com profile] gandolforf's brother, Eric Lee Bark, pictured above, was last seen in Maquoketa, IA, on November 4, 2011. He gave no word to his family as to where he was going.

Eric was born December 19, 1987. He is 6'2" and weighs approximately 170 pounds. He has hazel eyes and brown hair, and there is a 6" scar on the outside of his left arm, near his elbow. The last time he was seen, he was wearing a dark blue hoodie and blue jeans. His car is also missing; it's a green Jimmy with rust marks.

If you see him, please contact [livejournal.com profile] gandolforf at gandolforf@gmail.com, on Twitter at gandolforf, on Tumblr at http://gandolforf.tumblr.com/, or let me know. I will let A. know about anything as soon as I hear. You can also contact the Maquoketa Police Department at (563) 652-2468.

There is a Facebook post here; please pass it on if you can.

This post is public. Feel free to pass it on, in part or full, if you so choose.

He's 23 going on 24. Are they sure he's missing and didn't just decide to go on a trip and not tell them? He took his car.... Is there a psych issue?

I thought the same things too but couldn't pass on telling others in case something really was wrong

I hear that, but if I ever go on an unannounced road trip to clear my head, I beg of folks not to do this to me.

yeah I get that. for me, if I ever got a week plus without checking in somewhere I'd want someone to call around or ask people I usually talk with if they've heard from me

I'd love to just take off. But as a mom, I have to say, if my kiddo who had previously been home or near home just suddenly wasn't heard of for 11 days, I'd be worried and upset. Maybe they are over-reacting, but the fact remains in missing persons cases that the first few days are crucial and after that, the possibility of finding the person alive drops dramatically.

I had a friend post this same basic message on one of my comms here at LJ, for her friend, because the friend's brother had gone missing. His car was found 3 days later in another state, and his body was in the woods about 50 miles from his house. He'd been beheaded for his car by a couple of skinheads who decided to pull a Mickey and Mallory.
