I'd like to keep busy but the music won't let me

so my dad is listening to music and since we live in a small apartment, no matter how loud/soft it is, I can still hear it.

It's not bad music (I love music from the 50s & 60s) but I can't concentrate on my writing with it on.

I used to be able to work with the music/tv on, but not so much anymore. I need it quiet.

Guess I'll wait until later tonight to work on this stuff.

I can work on graphics with music on but not when the tv is on since I usually get caught up watching whatever is on.

I can't even do anything with the tv on (except for watch it lol). music/tv used to just be white noise, so I don't know what's changed over the last 2 years that I need silence to work

I'd go the ear plug route, but I swear my dad is hard of hearing. I can hear phone ringing and people knocking on the door over the tv and music and he's just going about his business until I yell out phone or door and he's like "oh that was us?"

instead I'll just stay up until 3 or 4 am writing. That way I KNOW I won't be interrupted by anyone or anything
