First week of Spring 2014 semester finished. Instructor for in person class more toned down than he was last semester. Could be because it's only the 2nd day, but I hope it continues. Did the reading and assignment for my online class. The assignment was due by Saturday at 10 pm. I turned it in today.

Yesterday I put in my application to get medi-cal (insurance like Covered CA but could be free for me since I no longer have income) and food stamps (this is a long shot as my parents get income from SSI and that could mess with it). The lady called me today for a mini interview and said that tomorrow or Saturday I should be getting some follow up paper work that needed to be completed and returned within 10 days. She told me that I could make an appointment to turn in the requested info in person, and I think I will so that I can ask some other questions if I have them.

Hmm I can't think of anything else because of these stupid cramps I have, so I'm ending this and going to watch a movie.

Thank you. Now I don't know what the heck I'm going to do tomorrow and I unless the cramps get the better of me, I don't want to be inside all day.

Ugh, cramps. Do you have Saltines or Midol handy?

That's great news about the Medi-Cal and the food stamps! Hope everything continues going smoothly there. And I'm glad that one prof toned it down. Maybe it's also because you're in the second course with him?

Have saltines, but no midol. The other thing was the cramps only came when I walked around - staying in bed didn't bother me.

I just got a letter with a case number and my worker's name/number. I hope sometime at the beginning of next week I get the additional paperwork for my income and my parents income to determine how much cash aid/food stamps I qualify for as well as if I'll have out of pocket expenses for dr appts

I hope it comes in time so you can get covered under January, instead of February! But I guess it doesn't really matter, right? As long as it's started.

honestly, if the government is going to penalize me for their mistakes that's not cool, but it would be nice to be able to go to the doctor and not like the planned parenthood clinic

Totally! Actually, I think I messed up with that Dec 23rd deadline. That date was actually just the deadline for January 1 coverage. So I think you're still okay, as long as you're signed up by March, otherwise you'll have to wait another year.

Either way, I'm hoping to have it sooner rather than later. First order of business is for me to find a dr I like and get a full physical. I also need to see if Medi-Cal has a dental program and if I can get that. My teeth are getting worse - I fear I won't have any left soon :(

I hear that. My dad's primary physician told my dad last year that he'd see me, so I don't really have to worry about that. I need to get dental and vision taken care of. I'm sure I can go see the dentist my dad goes to; he used to be mine my entire life before I, uh, stopped going. But I'm totally mortified of him seeing the state of my teeth, so I don't know. I need to get vision taken care of too because the pair of glasses I'm wearing are older than the ones I had before I lost them. These ones are, uh, 4 lost pairs ago :\ It's a wonder I haven't gone blind.
