there's not much I can say on the matter. I was called for a case and called to sit in the jury box, then told I needed to come back tomorrow morning.
I was sure that I would be excused (back to the jury room) because of my job and the nature of the crime. I work at a church, and let's leave it at that until I know if I'm on the case.
There's still maybe 20 or 30 people the judge, prosecution and defense need to question before the jury is finalized. The trial is expected to last 8 days. I don't know if that includes deliberation or not.
Seeing the courtroom from the jury box, is certainly something else. I thought it was pretty cool. Kind of annoyed that the judge and 2 lawyers kept bringing up the jurors ages and how there weren't any "older people" to choose from or something.
Something I can talk about is that I saw the mother of one of my childhood friends. She didn't remember my name, but I remembered hers. I didn't get much chance to talk to her as she works in the jury room and there were a lot of jurors coming and going with questions.
So...for tomorrow, I have to leave at 630, again, because I have to be outside the courtroom where the trial is no later than 830 am. I've already e-mailed N and J about my selection and told them I wouldn't be in tomorrow. I'll know once I finish tomorrow evening if I'll be on the case (and taking 8-10 days away from volunteering) or if they can schedule me for next week.
eta also, it looks like going to see NWABT for 2nd or 3rd time might be out. I can't crunch the money anymore to come up with an extra $42 for 1 day, let alone 2 days. I has the sad.
