thank you 80s tv

Just watched the pilot episode of Magnum, PI and it gave me an idea for the 4th/final story in my Hawaii Five-0/Magnum, PI series.

( i babbles about tv shows that give me fic ideas )

I don't know what happened to NOT working on this until the summer, but when inspiration strikes, who am I to shelve it for 4 months?! It might not want to play later if I do that.



now time for sleeps. I have a few things to do before my 1 pm Community Legal Center tour.

the one Chin Ho pick pockets in episode 201? well I'm reading an article about him and he's talking about what it was like shooting that episode. well this just made me giggle:

Working with Alex O’Loughlin and Scott Caan on his first scene was a little nerve wracking, Miranda said, but everyone made him feel comfortable. He shot a funeral scene and boat scenes after his interrogation, and by then he felt more comfortable about his character and what he needed to do when he worked with Daniel Dae Kim. Miranda said the crew was “like a family” and that O’Loughlin and Caan are definitely “BFF’s.” He said he worked more with Dacascos and Inoue and both were very friendly and great to work with.

it doesn't surprise me, but it made me giggle.

also, in the last episode...Dante Basco (Rufio from Hook) played Nicky Chang! I thought it was him. dontelltheelf thought it was either him or one of his brothers.

woke up, looked at some stuff on my flist, now I'm feeling meh. I like the picture, but when are the larger ones going to be released!?

everything I read makes that meh feeling stronger and stronger.

good thing I'll be leaving in about 40 mins to do my errands and head to the courthouse for the tour at 1 pm

I can do this

Umm yeah. A bit overwhelming, but I can do this. So much of what I learned months ago is coming back. This is good.

about that thing...with the thing...

the tour/interview I had went great. I got the impression only the attorneys or courthouse paralegals are paid. the rest are volunteers. Originally I was just going to be given a tour but the attorney I shadowed asked if I wanted to help some litigants fills out their forms and after looking them over, I saw they were forms I'd filled out in class for practice. I helped 3 people with that allowing the attorney to work with some other people.

at the end of the day I decided that I'd give it a try for the next 3 months or so. I go back Friday morning for a half day - opening to lunch. I'll also set up my schedule for next week. I'm thinking of Monday, Wednesday, Friday - their busiest days.

I was only there for 3 hours and the 2 attorneys and other volunteers remembered my name. I felt kind of bad because I couldn't remember everyone's name.

not too long ago I re-read "A fine mingling of letting go and holding on" by ellievolia on AO3

Then a few weeks ago, I watched episode 7x12 of Criminal minds, and Emily Prentiss recites the entire quote and it won't leave me alone.
