I'm so freakin' indecisive

I bit the bullet and did it...or I will come Saturday....well my best friend did it.

It's been 14 years since I've been on a cruise and probably 13 or 14 years since I've had a proper vacation.

Now, I turn 39 in about a month (September 9 to be exact) and I'm not doing anything special for it. Well, other than getting my hair done like I try to do every year.

BUT for my 40th birthday next year, the theme is "Oh Lordy! She's 40!" hahaha I've seen so many joke decorations about it that I was like yes! I don't know/care how, but it will happen!

Now, where I bit the bullet was what I'm going to actually do to celebrate turning 40 in 2022 and that's going on a cruise! Come 2022, it will have been 15 years since I've been on a cruise and my best friend told me that I need to do something for ME and not to worry about what others will say or think.

So yeah. My best friend actually booked the cruise today! *SCREAMS*

September 9-12, 2022 we will be on the Carnival Radiance!

September 10th is our day at sea.

September 11th we will be in Ensenada for the day

September 12th back in Long Beach

I have to stop myself from buying my "cruise clothes" now because I plan on spending the next 10-12 months doing daily walks and getting back on my diet and if I'm able to stick to it (I say if because when I'm in a depressive state, I either overeat or don't eat at all) I will have lost weight and any clothes I buy NOW will be too big.

I'm going to wait until June or July to start buying for the cruise. But that doesn't stop me from creating wishlists!

Congrats. I hope you have a ton of fun. Right now the fares are pretty good for cruises, so this is the perfect time. I know you will have fun.

This will actually be my second cruise. I went on my first one with a friend back in 2007. She arranged it through the reunion/alumni people at the university she went to and it was going to be a birthday gift to herself. Originally her daughter was going to go, but she flaked out, so she asked me (her "other" daughter). I had a ton of fun on that cruise and now I'm basically doing it again, but with a different friend on a different ship lol

TBH, I wanted to wait until the start of next year to book it, but I'd been checking the site every day since Sunday and watched the ship for another cruise (Cabo and Ensenada with me being in Cabo FOR my birthday) fill up and I was worrying that the back up 3-day cruise we actually went with was going to fill up as well.

I'm already thinking about the cruise I want to do for my 45th. Definitely something longer. Either Hawaii, Alaska, or the Caribbean...unless I'm suddenly able to take yearly cruises like I dreamt of doing back in 2007.

I miss cruising. We have two booked — Nov. 2022 and Jan 2023. It still seems like a lifetime away.

What sort of cabin did you book? You will have a lot of fun on it without any doubt. I can't wait for ours.

Those are even further away than mine in September! I can't imagine having to wait that long!

We booked a balcony. My best friend said she's never had a cabin without one (she's been on more cruises than I have) and the one I went on in 2007 was an interior room. But, for my birthday, I'm going to splurge within my means. Room with a balcony, a couple of add ons and then the rest of the money I planned on budgeting for will be spent on souvenirs for friends

Excellent. This is the time to get a cabin — I know Princess is really making some deals, but I prefer the smaller ships and that limits our scope. I'm so ready, but the world isn't.

Check out YouTube for helpful information on taking cruises--best deals, how not to get ripped off, safety, etc. Plus best cabins, you may not want to be below the water line!

I've gone on a cruise before, and my best friend has been on 2 or 3, but I'll check that on youtube for additional information. Can never be too prepared.
