Everyone (Kim and Colleen) keep telling me this is "my home" too and that I should have more of my stuff out or whatever.

I mean...this is where I'm living, but it's not home to me. Home shouldn't have the threat of being without it should anything happen to Kim and she can no longer live here...or the property owners/managers decide that I can no longer live here. I think they'd have to go through the eviction process since I've been living here since October 2017, but still.

Where I am currently living isn't home to me. It's someplace that I'm living.

Well, this morning I woke up and wanted to change something about that. I wanted to make it not feel/look so cluttered, so I've been texting with Colleen about some rearranging I want to do and then I'll talk with Kim about it. I know I should have talked with Kim first, but she'll tell me to "do whatever you want, you live here too", but no. This is still her apartment.

Anyway. I'm going to get some plastic containers for more of my things to pack away either in storage or the closet, move some bigger pieces of furniture around so that I can take advantage of the natural lighting of the big window. I need to find the tall floor lamps I have in storage so that I can bring them here and add some more light to the room. I'd prefer something that I can easily turn off from the bed, but that would require buying a new one (I saw one that came with remote control!)

But, I bought containers for my things that are starting to overflow from their containment. I also really need to start throwing away stuff. That's my task for this month that I'm off from school. Hopefully by the time classes start in February, I will have more of a work area...and maybe a new laptop by the middle of the semester with my tax refund.

I'm actually going to check out Facebook Marketplace for a table/desk I can use too! I always try to steer clear of that place.

I bought a foldable bed desk that is very handy for laptop and drawing use. It has a drawer and place for a drink and a book prop. When I am done with it, I just fold it and lean it by the bed.

I'll have to look for something like that.

I first saw this and I think its a possibility

But I don't want to be sitting at my bed working as that's what I already do.

For Christmas I got one of those folding lap tables for using while in bed, but that will be uncomfortable for 2+ hour length that my classes are

Actually, I think what you described is what I got for Christmas.

Not as fancy as this

The sad thing is that unless you own your own place, you can be forced to move often. When I lived in Eugene I had to move five times in seven years because landlords don't give a fuck. They jack the rent, sell the property out from under you, decide they will evict you and rent to their relatives--I had it all happen to me. I learned to not accumulate things I could not lift and move myself. They don't care if you are a good tenant at all.

There's at least some protection from that because this is a senior apartment. Yes they can evict me/the lady I take care of for any reason and they'd probably have no problem getting another tenant, but they wouldn't want the kind of publicity that would come with evicting an elderly lady...especially considering the reason that I'm here is because they were deaf and dumb when she was laying on the floor for 3 days yelling for help and no one bothered to do anything but then when I move in to care for her, they hear all sorts of yelling and I'm being accused of being abusive towards her.

What did we do before plastic containers? They make our lives so much easier.

Those cardboard banker's boxes? lol

But i found there's still a limit to what the plastic containers can hold when stacked up.

Not as cool plus you can immediately see what's in them.

Well, yes, after a certain point, they become a death trap.
