Even though I have my driver's license, I still take the bus. Some of the buses have TV/computer screens and show Transit TV and one of the programs is "Exercise Your Mind" where they have trivia and you can email in the correct answer for prizes.

Wednesday of last week, I entered the Wheel of Fortune like challenge. The correct answer was "on the same page". I got it correct, but didn't win the prize. Last Friday, I entered this challenge where 2 phrases were spoken in 2 different languages and you had to translate 1 (or both) to English. The phrase I translated was "cerrar la puerta". SO FRIGGIN' EASY! Where I live, it's IMPOSSIBLE NOT to pick up on SOME Spanish. Plus, I did take Spanish in high school. The correct answer is "close the door".

Here's the tweet telling everyone I won!

Lizet E, on line127, is the winner of the EYE challenge! Spanish-"Close the Door", Tagalog-"Would you like some Water"! Nice Work!

Prizes. You win prizes if your name is chosen. I don't remember exactly what my prize was, but the possible prizes were: a 7 day TAP pass (bus pass), 2 tickets to the Hollywood Bowl (I think this is what I won), 2 movie tickets or 2 tickets to San Diego Zoo (or Wild Animal Park or the Safari thingy they have). I don't know how long it takes for them to mail out prizes, but when it comes I'll be sure to take a picture.

Also, lesson learned. Play the Tranist TV trivia. You never know when you're going to win! Plus, you might surprise yourself with how much you actually know or learn something new.

Thanks.

I've never been there and there's some shows I would love to see, but the ticket prices were more than I could afford. hopefully there's something showing that I want to see and can use the tickets (if that's what I won).

That's awesome! MARTA never had anything that fun on the train TVs when I rode to school...they had ads for CBS shows and sometimes segments from the CBS morning show, and sometimes ads filmed in-house about not leaving your stuff unattended and the value of MARTA police...but sometimes the TVs just didn't work or were showing a command prompt. Definitely nothing cool with PRIZES!! Congrats!

Some of the TVs were broken/off, had no sound or only had a map of Los Angeles County. But that was very rare.

That's awesome! I always watch, if I'm on a bus going downtown, for those. But then I totally forget to enter. Maybe I'll do that next time!

I can't wait to see what you won. If it was to the Hollywood Bowl, I wonder if it's a certain show or if they give you a discount for the show you want. I'd totally spring for the Sound Of Music sing-along if I could!

I wanted to go to the Grease sing-along but I believe those tix were like $75 and I couldn't justify paying that much

Wow, that much?! I went a couple years ago, but my cousin paid for me. I never how much the tickets were. If I'd known that, I still probably would have gone and not wanted to pay either! ha. It was okay, but I'd much rather see Sound of Music. It is kinda fun though. A lot of the original cast members came out (not Travolta, Olivia, Jeff Conaway, or Stockard Channing, but the other supporting cast), and there was a huge costume contest. A lot of the costumes were fun to see, but you can only sit and watch for so long without getting bored. And you get a little gift bag thing with props to wave and use during certain scenes.

maybe for next year, I'll see how much a "season pass" is...if they even do anything like that.

I think they probably do. I'd imagine it would depend on where you sit. If you have box seats, it'd be pretty expensive.

Oh, I went to the site right now. They do have something where you can buy tickets for 5 or more concerts. I guess those are for the LA Phil concerts only.
