My mom just forwarded me an email about getting car insurance.

kind of putting the cart before the horse, no?

I don't even have a car or know the kind of car I want to get so that I can get insurance quotes

plus, I kind of figured I'd go with AAA because that's what they have. *shrugs*

eta also, A, who I work with, is such an enabler - in the best kind of way. I've been telling her about my car dilemma and she's all "you should rent a car! it's so much fun!" and she goes to tell about the first she rented a car.

I agree that's putting the cart before the horse since your insurance will be based on the car that you get.

My car insurance is with Commerce and I receive a AAA discount with them.

all the quotes I've been doing in the past is based on the current 2 (crappy) cars we have and they're already insured with AAA and my parents

Well, yeah, but at the same time I'm sure she's thinking it'd be good to start looking at the different insurance companies. You can imagine you have different cars and see what quotes they give you for those cars. Kind of like imagining you're going to go on vacation somewhere and saying "Oh, I'm going to fly to NYC on July 23rd and stay there for 5 days. Which airline has the best airfare for that date?" Or am I the only weirdo who does that?

I do that...have been doing that for years actually...idk I just thought it was weird for her to do that.

and I had to include all other licensed drivers whether they'd be driving the car or not and that made the rate go higher
