I lived in one of those types of neighborhoods for 16 years; we were one of the first couples to move in. Trust me, it became something akin to those two after a while. (THEY DO EXIST, THEY DO EXIST!)

Denning and Joe as the two straight guys who are just housemates (maybe they served together in the military and pooled their resources to buy a house). Everybody assumes they're gay because their respective jobs are hairdresser and interior decorator.

In episode 1, Danny convinces his new husband Steve to move into the house right next door to his ex, so he can see Grace all the time. Pat takes to sunbathing nude (she lives on the other side of them) and Gabrielle recognizes Danny (now a respectable cop) from the old days when he was one of her co-stars, under the name of "Rod Cannon". Victor's soft-spoken poet-writing brother Anton comes to visit, but he is, in reality, a cold-blooded hitman ordered to take out (the found) Chin and Malia, and the premiere ep ends with Anton shot dead, and his final word is "Shelburne".
