what an odd place to have an idea

so I'm cleaning the bathroom sink and I get an idea for a fic. Actually a more developed plot for a story featuring some of the US Marshals from the show Manhunters: Fugitive Task Force

But I honestly don't want to think about it because I have too much going on! 3 big bangs, 2 Danny/Kono stories, 3 Danny/Steve stories and 1 Steve centric story

I don't know where I find the time

Inspiration has the happen of striking when you don't think it will!

When I was writing I was always coming up with ideas in the car and of course that would make it hard to jot them down while driving.

one of my friends suggested getting a voice/audio recorder when inspiration strikes while I'm going something and can't write it done. Thing is, I get giggly when I listen to my voice for extended periods of time (I hated listening to/watching recordings of speeches I gave in my communications classes)

You get giggly and I just don't like hearing my voice on recordings. Hate having to do the whole leave a message thing at work and always make them very short and simple.

at my work we still have an old school answering machine so if I don't answer the phone in time I hear my voice leaving the greeting. I don't know why, but it's even more embarrassing when someone else is in the office.

The car for you too?! For me, by the time I get home the idea has disappeared - the same goes for when I am in the shower, where plot bunnies attack me!

The shower. Totally! I was always planning to buy soap markers so I could make notes on the walls. Never have though. Something to consider! Not the car do much.

The weirdest place I ever got an idea was rocking 4 kids to sleep at work and I started thinking about families and my 'growth chart' story was born...

I often make up dialogue while I am driving, talking to myself (especially Danny's part). I'm glad for handsfree phones otherwise I'd look like a nutcase...
