wanna make some money?

Back in the day – 20+ yrs ago – my dad used to make shirts and caps. Now what I mean by that is he would buy plain t-shirt and baseball caps and put felt letters/numbers on them with a heat press. It was mostly custom order work, but he made enough to warrant buying the supplies.

Well, not 10 minutes ago he comes to my room and was like, “wanna make some money selling stuff on e-bay or craigslist?” I waited and he told me he wanted to sell his t-shirt and cap heat press and a few boxes of felt letters/numbers…and apparently I’d get to keep some sort of money from that.

There are a few downsides to this. The people who buy have to be local – as in close enough to dive to a neutral location and pick them up because (according to my dad) they weigh about 50 lbs (I don’t know if that’s the shirt press or the cap press), but if they get shipped, shipping would be included in the price. I’m leaning towards not being shipped, unless through FedEx or UPS because I do not want any postal workers having to deal with overly heavy packages. That’s just cruel.

But anyways, he’s going to give me the model numbers and I’m going to do some research to see how much they’re worth, if any have sold on e-bay/craigslist and how much they sold for.

Hmm, if you use eBay won't you need to pay some sort of fee for listing the stuff?

When my dad asks if I want to make some money and I say yes, he usually tells me to go mow the lawn!

It'd also be worth looking on ETSY and seeing if there's anything like this listed in the supplies section of the site...

ha! I remember when I was younger, maybe early teens, I used to beg my parents to get a house again. I would say that I'd mow the lawn if they got a house. We've lived in the same apartment since I was 4 and I'm 29.

I'll check there too. I forgot about that place.
