This is from my Danny/Kono story that I can't seem to find a way to end so it's taking a nap in my WIP folder
At the end of the day, what mattered most to Danny was laying on either side of him – Grace, clinging to a stuffed animal and Kono, with her soft hand resting gently on his chest just above his heart.
It didn’t matter to him all the mistakes they’d made in the past, trying to come together into the perfect family – to try and outdo what Rachel and Stan had created. They were never going to be that, but somewhere deep in Danny’s heart he knew that what he had was perfect for him.
When you realize you want to spend the rest of your life with somebody, you want the rest of your life to start as soon as possible. And the rest of Danny’s life was just beginning.
and...pulling up on this snippet just might have given me a little push and some ideas on how I could wrap things up...at least with the current case they're working on and the case at the end of the story. hmmm
