Let's go into 2021 with happy thoughts
Dec. 31st, 2020 12:20 pmIt's noon and today has already been a trip!
Kim trying me with her sudden can't remember her daily schedule. And she's the one who set it herself! I know that mentally she's not all there, but she worries about everything else and not the task at hand.
I let her do whatever she was going to do. If that meant that she had breakfast before taking her meds, that's on her. If that meant she waited too long to go to the bathroom because she was "praying" for God to get her there safely, then that's on her...but she is going to damn well take a shower before she puts on fresh clothes.
I went to the bank to get quarters. There was an actual line of people waiting to get in! Apparently, they were only letting in 3 customers at a time and could only have a max of 10 people, including the employees. A sign on the window said that in an emergency, there was a max of 14 people.
I got $20 in quarters. I hope that's enough. I don't know if they raised the amount to wash/dry like they did about 4 or 5 months ago? I can't remember. But it would be nice for them to send a notification when they do that. It would actually be even better if they went to electronic cards so we don't have to deal with quarters...but then they'd probably have to really raise the cost. I think it's currently at $1.75 to wash and $1.50 to dry. The coin slots only go to $2 for each, so if they went to cards, there's virtually no limit that they can charge to use the machines.
So I will be washing as much as I can today. There are 2 washers and dryers. I try to be considerate of the other tenants and not use both machines at the same time, but that doesn't always happen. Especially when I have like 5 or 6 loads of clothes to wash.
I'm still thinking about what I'm going to make for dinner tonight. I think I'm going to go teriyaki glazed salmon, rice and corn. Then on New Year's Day, dinner will be beef chimichurri with chile-lime butter. I'm sure both of those sound fancy, but they aren't. I bought the meals already put together from amazon a couple of days ago. They just go in the oven for 20 or 30 minutes and I cook whatever sides I'm going to have with it and the meal is done.
Time to sort clothes. Time is running out and I want to get as much washed as I can today.
