Just wondering
Dec. 27th, 2020 09:22 pmWould you describe yourself as more of an optimist or a pessimist?
A realist with optimistic leanings
When you are in a bad mood, are you determined to make everyone as miserable as you are or do you take pains to not inflect your mood on anyone else?
When I'm in a bad mood, I want to go and vent to someone about it...until they start to agree with me, and then I end up defending the person/thing that has me upset.
What tends to cheer you up when you are feeling particularly bleak?
Sleep to just forget about what's got me down. Maybe some junk food.

We had our last outdoor church service of the year. Next Sunday we move indoors, still with the limit on the number of people. But the good thing is that because there's the limit and we haven't been hitting anywhere close to that for the outdoor service, maybe those who have been holding off on coming, will attend.
We're lucky if the morning service has 15/32 people! The second service (in Spanish) probably has 20-25/30 people, so that's better. People keep saying that it's because the English service is too early, but it's an hour later than we were meeting pre-Covid and at least then we could pull 20/30 people but we started at 9:30am! I think they're set in their ways from when we were 2 separate churches that shared a building and the "American" church was the main one, with the "Hispanic" church renting the property.
Anyway, indoor church service starting Jan 3. I'll actually be able to wear my church shoes as I won't fear tripping/falling due to a crack in the parking lot. But! I will be glad when we can go back to giving hugs! As much as I don't like hugging, I miss that.
Went to the market after church and lunch.
I got a few things I didn't want to try ordering through amazon fresh.
I got my food for good luck in the new year. I don't do black eye peas, so I got some grapes to do Las doce uvas de la suerte even though I'm not Spanish/Mexican.
The Twelve Grapes (Sp. Las doce uvas de la suerte, "The twelve grapes of luck") is a Spanish tradition that consists of eating a grape with each clock bell strike at midnight of December 31 to welcome the New Year.
I also picked up a couple of cartons of chicken broth and a package of egg noodles to make turkey noodle soup. I'll do that next week though. This week is going to be chicken a couple of nights, chili a couple of nights and then I had to buy some beef and pork because all I have in the freezer is 2 differently seasoned chicken breast packs and another turkey meal.
Had a zoom birthday thingy with the BFF. Last year she planned to have a karaoke thing and I was going to leave out Christmas night, spend all day on the 26th in AZ and some of the 27th before coming back. I think I was going to Greyhound it because round trip tickets were like $100 vs $300-$400 or more it would have been if I flew. Obviously, that didn't happen. I honestly forgot that was the original plan until I saw it in my calendar for this weekend. Within 3 months of making the plans last year, they were shot to hell by the pandemic!
