She didn't know she had it. This gentle, tender, more mellow side. The soft touches, butterfly kisses, eskimo kisses and raspberries that brought about giggles. But looking at the little girl in her arms, she could feel more of her rough edges smoothing out; more of her hard lines, of which there were a few, softening and blurring in with the rest of her life. She smiled and kissed the tiny hand that came up to her face and inhaled the sweet scent of baby powder, baby lotion and something that she was learned was unique to her daughter alone.

For days I've been saying my dad didn't sound 'right' or that he was always on pain meds whenever I talked to him. but no one heard the difference.

My mom just called and said that she's been listening to him speak and he speech does sound slurred. I knew it, but since no one else heard or could tell the difference, I thought it was maybe that he always sounded tired.

So they're monitoring him until it's time to go to the hospital for the MRI and my mom will call back later.

eta (11:58am): mom called to say they've taken dad to the ER ahead of his schedule appt because he was unresponsive and his body temp was about 46 degrees. they brought the temp up and he was awake, but she was concerned.

I haven't made a post on FB to let people know because I can't get a hold of my brother and I don't want a repeat of what happened last week

This is a tumblr fic based on a prompt from imagineyourotp: Imagine your OTP inviting their friends to see their child for the first time.

Baby on Board

Barely a month old and home for three weeks, Mary and Pete thought it was a good time to invite some of their closest friends and family over to see the newest Malloy family member, Ally. They weren’t going to do much, just some snacks and a small group of people over, some in the morning and some in the afternoon, after Joan woke from her nap.

But before any of that could happen, Pete really needed to find out which of the knuckleheads he worked with put a blasted ‘Baby on Board’ sticker on the back of his car.

The results of my dad's MRI came in.

He had a blockage and they're giving him blood thinners in hopes that they will allow the blood to flow.

He'll be in the hospital for another 24-48 hours while they monitor him with this new medication.
