I've been looking for a fic for a friend for over 2 hours and I have yet to find it.

I want to say it was around Christmas (not sure if last yr or 2010) when I read. Steve was either really rich and a playboy or a lawyer. Danny worked at a soup kitchen or homeless shelter. Then there was this other guy who was like an ex of Danny's who knew about Steve and was jealous and told Danny and then Danny didn't want anything to do with Steve.

I could be confusing the detail about the other guy.
