This summer I'm going to do A LOT of soul searching to see if I want to continue to be active in this fandom.

Things have continued to go down hill and the I don't know how much lower things can get than someone telling another person they should kill themself and yet another person saying it was probably sarcastic.

Oh BB. Don't let the loud, unkind minority decide for you. That didn't happen on LiveJournal, did it? I pretty much avoid any fandom stuff that isn't on here. We tend to be a little more sane than some sites like tumblr and twitter. We are a community!

Haven't seen any comments like that here. This is all on twitter and not directed at me, but it hurts that fans are turning on each other and NONE of the show people are stepping in to say calm down, if anything they're fanning the flames.

That's so sad. I have a twitter account, but only posted three times a couple of years ago and I never go read there. No tumblr, no facebook. My life, she is carefree of social commentary beyond the occasional LJ, barn, or school drama, which is, apparently, mild :-)

Yes, this exactly. I think I'll be staying, but I'm very disappointed in what's going on and just simply done with all of it. I've unfollowed her, and I'm likely going to be unfollowing him tomorrow.

As I said in my post I'm so glad that I'm not on Twitter and seeing all of this happening live. What I have seen and heard about is just crazy and this really puts the craziness at a whole new level.

Yeah I've been noticing a lot of tension in the fandom recently, very sad. To be honest, aside from a handful of places and writing fic, I tend not to get involved too much because there is a lot of 'wars' and such going on. I support the show wholeheartedly, but I'm not a supporter of petty arguments that don't need to be created. We all like SHOW for different reasons, but when opinions become a dictatorship and people get aggressive, fandom sharply loses it's appeal.

It's dissapointing because I would rave a whole lot more about the show and get involved with more discussions but I simply can't stand the petty infighting that can arise.

No just NO indeed. Everyone needs to chilll out and drink blue cocktails.
