I was going to say in RE: crossovers with British fandoms: make sure you have a reliable 'brit-picker'. If most of the plot of your story takes place in America you don't (necessarily) have to worry about using 'the lift' 'his flat' 'the boot of the car'. Unless your British characters are thinking/saying these things. And even then, if your James Bond is undercover and trying to 'blend in' as an American, at any point, then even he would use the 'American' words 'the elevator' 'his apartment' 'the trunk of the car'.
