My End of Year Writing Summary
Dec. 31st, 2012 01:27 pm![[personal profile]](https://www.dreamwidth.org/img/silk/identity/user.png)
Total Number of Words I wrote in 2012: 109,606
My #1 Fandom by Word Count: Hawaii Five-0
My #2 Fandom by Word Count: none
My #3 Fandom by Word Count: none
Next year, I'm thinking abiout dipping my toes into this fandom. Maybe. Probably.: I haven't a clue. H5-0 is the only fandom I feel comfortable enough writing, and really the only show I watch. But lately, I have been thinking about James Bond crossovers, but American English vs British English is a hindrance.
The Story that I wrote which got the most reviews/comments is: When the Past Won't Leave You Alone. I'm sort of shocked by this. It's a comment fic put together and edited a couple of times and has 6,237 hits, 111 kudos and was bookmarked 13 times.
The story that was the most fun to write: Twenty Tiny Fingers, Twenty Tiny Toes. (and 2nd most popular story I've written!) It's Daddy!Steve and Daddy!Danny helps him out. It's almost my utopia fic. It was also supposed to be a 1,000 word Steve/Danny Spring Fling fic for [Bad username or site: @ livejournal.com] and grew wings of it's own and I ended up with 10,488 words! and I have at least 4 timestamps planned
The story that was the hardest to write: Restaurant at the End of Piikoi Street. The was written for [Bad username or site: @ livejournal.com], and while I met and exceeded the minimum word count, writing a fic that was purely a case story was a bit hard for me and I couldn't wrap my brain around fleshing out the case and solving it like I wanted...but I do have a sequel 1 shot planned.
The Story that I would re-write if I could: I have a few of them - 3 I believe, but I've only written on Call Me Danno this year. I started them when I was into Danny/Kono and now that they are no longer my OTP and I'm not in the right mindspace to finish them, I'd alter them so that they were either GEN or Steve/Danny.
The Story that I would unwrite if I could: There's Only Been You, but I haven't worked on it since 2011 and I don't think anyone was reading it - I hadn't posted it on AO3
Thestorystories that I didn't write which I enjoyed reading the most: OMG, really? anything by [Bad username or site: @ livejournal.com], [Bad username or site: @ livejournal.com], [Bad username or site: @ livejournal.com] and [Bad username or site: @ livejournal.com], to name a few authors. But actual stories? god, too many to list!
Something I tried that was brand new to me: I wrote an mpreg fic? Hippocampus was written for
comment_fic and then I heard about
mpregbigbang and wanted to expand on that little snippet for a full story, but I couldn't find the time. That's about the only thing I can think of that was brand new to me writing.
Other information about my writing I'd like to share: I think I maybe won't take on so many big bang challenges. I think I had to drop out of 3 or 4 challenges because I couldn't devote enough time to them to even get them out of the planning stages! Next year I'll stick with 1 or 2 big bangs until I've finished all the on hold fics I have (this will ensure that I have something BIG to write every year for at least the next 4 years!).
I don't write. I make awesome graphics which you can see here: Well, actually I DO write, but when I started out in the fandom, it was with graphics. Here are some of the icons I've made for
