Sure! It might be a little different in your Word version but I have 2003.
Down at the bottom of the Word window, there may be things like REC TRK EXT OVR
Those should all be grayed out. Next to it may say something like English (UK). Double-click on that sucka and pick English (US). Maybe also uncheck the "automatically detect language" thing--hope that helps!
