SPOILERS!

of a pretty big kind too! For episode 3.01

So there's this

And I don't know if I'm going to like Doris much, but it's also reminding me about this review posted in the Examiner. Specifically the part this part:

Thrusting her in the middle of the McGarrett/Danno (Scott Caan) partnership shines a light on elements and eccentricities they each have let slide about the other, but because she is a fresh pair of eyes, and a straight-shooter at that, she calls attention to them immediately, forcing them to consider deeper than typical macho dudes might want to.

Doris trying to come off as everyone's mother. I don't know how well that's going to go over.

holy crap! while that's sort funny, I had this odd sense of deja vu and Lori prying into Danny's life as a "profiler".

She's been in hiding for 20 years. Times have changed and Danny isn't her son and she has no right prying into his personal life. Hell she probably doesn't have a right prying into Steve and Mary's lives anymore after what she did to "protect" her family.

Wow. Is it bad that I actually kinda love that I really dislike Doris a LOT there? It's... wow. That after what she did, she would have the balls to be that pushy and jerkface with Danny -- boy, I really like that. Not that I'm liking her, but I find it really good that I'm disliking her so much. Plus, it makes me think of some aspects of Steve's personality; he can be pushy and no respecter of boundaries. (I just don't find him OBNOXIOUS like I'm finding Doris here.)

Plus, if Doris is being this way with Danny because she thinks he and Steve are too close and is "defending" her son -- oh God, I love that. Even if I would hate it for reals, I love it as a character thing here, because it says so much about her. I'm suddenly way more optimistic about Doris than I was before I saw this; at least TPTB aren't making her all Forgiveable and all Perfect / Likeable.

The crappy thing there to me is that Steve apparently didn't hear that conversation between Doris and Danny because he was on the phone. I WISH HE WOULD HAVE HEARD EVERY WORD OF THAT. (Of course he would've interrupted long before the "Danno" from Doris, I think -- I kept wondering why he wasn't, until I found out he was on the phone.)

Man, this is one of my favorite spoilers EVER. Thank you!!!!!

It's not just that she has no right to go prying into Danny's personal life like that, it's that she has no right to be so judgmental about it. Glass houses and all that.

I was going to say everything that's already been said LOL. Part of me likes her and her attitude, but no, she has no right, no matter what, to be giving Danny advice and calling him "Danno"? Uh-uh, no way, no how!

The other part of me wants her to have it out with Steve (maybe she will) and of course Mary. If I'm going to have a (partial) soap foisted on me by TPTB, I want angst, I want screaming, I'd like to see Mary deck Doris actually.

(Going away now before I totally hijack your post)

Love how Danny looks at Steve before answering her. Every time. Like 'hey, buddy a little help here please? You want to call off the interrogation? at least she's not dangling me off a roof...'
