Vampire mythology/lore

Is there someone on my flist who knows of vampire mythology/lore?

I have some questions for a fic and I want to know if my ideas are "plausible" in the realm of vampires.

Or you know...I'll just totally BS is. I'm just saying...

I think you'll find that vampire lore is as varied as the medium that they're in. The vampires in True Blood are not the same ones in Twilight, and the same can be true for anything that you see vampires in. Some of them can't be near crosses (Spike- BtVS), others can do speeches in churches full of crosses (TB). Some are killed in bathtubs of garlic (Lost Boys) while others it would just give bad breath (Sanctuary). There's even the lore surrounding sunlight. Most of the lore says that they would be burned, but Damon and Stefan (TVD) are able to go out in the sunlight with the help of magic rings from witches. I think that anything you write, you can pretty much get away with, so long as you have something in your story that can back up the myths.

I agree with lostandalone22, but if you need help I'll be happy to give you a hand, I love vampires. :)
