the e-mail wasn't as nasty as I'd thought it'd get

craigslist guy emailed me again about sending him the money from the purchase of the book. I've had enough.

never mind that in the last email I sent him I said I wouldn't be dealing with it for 9 days, like my bank told me.

his email to me:

Please make sure you take care of everything today and send me the transfer details i.e Money Transfer Cotrol Number (MTCN) and the total amount sent after charges. I will need the money to take care of some pressing bills and pay for pick-up.
Waiting to read from you.

well my response to him wasn't as nasty as I thought it would be. I'm just so tired of this

I regret to inform you that yesterday afternoon my banker asked me to come in to discuss the cashier's check. I went to the bank and the branch manager gave me some very distressing news. She said they were unable to negotiate the check because it was fake. They were unable to return the check to me so that I could send it back to you.

If you do not believe me, you can check with your bank to see that it has indeed NOT been cashed.

THIS EFFECTIVELY ENDS ANY BUSINESS WE HAVE. DO NOT CONTACT ME ANYMORE.

I am done with this. I will not respond to any further e-mail from this person.

Just a thought but maybe it would be a good idea to block his email address that way you know you're done with him.

I've already done that, but sometimes things slip through the cracks.

It seems like if he continues to press you on this, you can report him to the Postmaster General. He is perpetrating mail fraud at the very least. They can prosecute him for it.

Blocking his email is an excellent idea as well.

What a mess. I'm so sorry this happened to you.

It's been a lesson learned. Now I have to tell my dad as he wanted me to post a couple of heat presses he has, but this experience has left me weary about trying again - especially with something that's worth way more than a $50 book.

What a jackass! I would have already reported him for the fake check.
