I see that all the time, even if certain fics are completely out of character (and yeah, it takes some work but in even the most wildly implausible AU, you can still stay loyal to character) or what they are doing in, say, a reality-based fic is so non-researched and wrong that you can hardly read the story and then peeps jump all over it with lavish praise and I'm all, 'what?'. If something's good with rough edges or unbalanced moments or a non-native speaker, I usually find something encouraging to say (though I'm as guilty as the next reader for occasionally dropping by, bookmarking for later or liking what I read and thinking I'll comment later, but later never happens :-)), but when it's just bad... no. And I've read so many really great fics that garnered like three or four feedback comments that it really makes me scratch my head and sometimes I think those questionable fics and peeps are all 14 yr olds in the same school, lololol.

It'd be a shame for you to stop reading and miss gems like Your Bright And Tiny Spark by imaginary_iby, though granted, after yesterday's offerings on my flist, I was thinking the same, lololol.

How'd you do on your big job test??
